CRLV Guest Mix 5 : Dr.Bread
Dr. Bread
Rounding off our first week of guest mixes with this stormer by Dr. Bread!
Not much is known about the man behind Dr. Bread. He likes to keep himself in the dark, his work however does not - this mix is as straight as they come, he merges raw techno vibes but keeps it classy - it is also FULL of unreleased exclusives (which we love) ! I was first introduced to him through a friend, Rob De Large, since then I've kept up with all of his music, true talent is hard to come by these days but Dr. Bread is one of the best to come out of USA in the past few years and really leaves you begging for more every time.

We kidnapped the Dr to hear more about his work - full interview below!
CRLV: When did you first get involved in music, how has it changed over the past few years?
I played in bands starting when I was 13, toured around. Then I decided that I don't really like dealing with ego's in the creative process so I got into producing and djing. It's changed because of the internet and how accessible music is to everyone now. That pushes it to evolve at an incredible rate.
CRLV: Being from USA we all know how hard it is to break into the scene in comparison to Europe, how do you make an impact?
I just play what I'm feeling and if the people are open to having a good time they always dance. I think most of my fans are Italian.
CRLV: What has been your favorite place to play so far?
I grew up in Augusta Georgia and every once in a while I play these parties called "Fresh Sounds" in the top of this hotel (13th floor) with an awesome view and all my friends come out. We drink champagne, nobody makes a request and everyone is there to dance.
CRLV: What is your current setup for production/DJing?
Ableton/reason for production and serato or ableton for djing.
CRLV: How do you feel about all the fresh talent coming into the game, do you pay attention to new music or stick to what you know?
It's nice to hear people pushing the boundaries and trying new things, thats what inspires me. I go through phases of listening to all the latest tracks and then not listening to anything.
CRLV: What is that one album you will never get sick of?
Return to forever - Romantic warrior
CRLV: What are your views on this current "EDM" faze in the US, is it giving dance a bad name or a good way for exposure?
I've never been a fan of the term "EDM" but being a producer/dj and having this scene be the biggest thing in music right now in America, I can't be mad. This just means more opportunities for me.
CRLV: And finally, what do you hope to achieve in 2013?
Too much to list.
CRLV: make sure you keep us up to date! Thanks for your time.
