We recently caught up with Kenny to find out a little bit more about his tastes and approach to music.
CRLV : When and how did you first get into dance music?
N: I think when i was about 14/15 we had a famous club in my city where people from all over europe came to party.
CRLV: Where did the name Ntology come from?
N: I kind of borrowed it from a friend of mine, he used to use it in a game and i just thought it sounded cool.
CRLV: For those who don't know you, what can people expect from your shows?
N: It's hard these days because there are so many djs around now from back when i started. I just try to be original and not just play the same stuff everybody else plays.. i like to play alot of unknown tracks i get in my mailbox from unknown producers and some of my own stuff.
CRLV: Favourite producers at the moment?
N: I really like Henzel & Disco Nova & TWR72 at the moment, also, i'm really liking these new less known but really good producers like NEEDS and Jackin' With The Drums! Some really good stuff coming from them!
CRLV: Good choice, what is your current production setup?
N: my super pro setup is a PC, Keyboard, Mouse, Reason 5 and a small Akai Midi Controller :) You really don't need much more to make music.
CRLV: If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
N : This is Simple. Friet met Biefstuk and Peppersauce, it's Dutch for fries with steak!
CRLV: Sounds amazing, you need to hook me up when I hit Belgium! Any advice to the smaller djs/producers just starting out?
N: Haha sure! You won't starve here in Belgium. My advice would be to stay original, make the music you love to hear and just enjoy yourself.
CRLV: If you could re-do any film soundtrack what would it be?
N: Fuck, that's a hard one! I would love to re-do the techno Club scene in Blade.
CRLV: What is that one track you HAVE to drop in your sets?
N: I always drop some Modek stuff in my sets but that really depends on the mood at that time but any Modek track works
CRLV: Agreed. What was your personal highlight of 2012 and any goals for 2013?
N: I gotta say when i went to Portugal and Paris, I met some very cool people and made some really nice friends that i still talk to today.
I hope i can keep traveling the world playing tunes i love and making people dance and ofcourse, the big Belgian festivals in the summer!
CRLV: Was there a moment in the past few years you thought, fuck… this could become a career?
N: I'm far away from that i think, never thought this, i'm just trying!
CRLV: Well you're doing a damn good job so far! Thanks for taking the time to chat to us and all the best for the future!
N: You are very welcome, sir - thanks!
